So I have a new Skoda octavia iv. i have notice that the car often shows "connect phone" ( think it is the right translate from swedish ) instead of "connecting automatically" I have the same problem with Bluetooth and apple care play.
If your iPhone isn't detected by CarPlay, make sure that CarPlay isn't restricted. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions, tap Allowed Apps and make sure that CarPlay is enabled. Go to Settings > General > CarPlay, tap your car, then tap Forget This Car. Then set up CarPlay again.
It does work perfectly in the estate model, as said above the rear wipe runs according to the speed of the front, but only when the fronts are on continuous. To have it work on the hatch would be silly, the rear screen does not get rain on it when travelling and all you would do is wear out the rubber blade!

Best thing to do is get VCDS and see if both the brake light switch and clutch switch are working correctly. You can moitor the outputs in the measuring blocks and observe the values change as you are pressing the pedals. Edited 10 April, 2016 by SuperbTWM.
You might wanna check the brightness level switch, the one next to the headlamp level switch. It might have failed. I had the same issue in my Octy. If it is the culprit, you can change it, as an alternative and a quick fix, you can short the 2 wires of the connector to the switch, but that will result in 100% brightness all the time.
